[Galeb](http://sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galebi) spada v družino Laridae. Na svetu obstaja okoli 40 vrst galebov, med večje sodi srebrno sivi galeb, ki zraste do dolžine 57 cm, medtem ko morski galeb zraste do dolžine 74 cm.

Med bolj prepoznavne galebe pa sodi junak knjige [Jonatan Livingston Galeb](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Livingston_Seagull), ki jo je napisal [**Richard Bach**](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Bach) in jo priporočam v branje vsakomur, ki je še ni prebral.
